Good News Clubs |
|
What is a Good
News Club? |
|
The
Good News Club is
a weekly, one hour Bible club for children ages 5-12 that includes a
Bible lesson with an evangelistic or discipleship emphasis,
action-packed songs, life changing memory verses, and fun exciting
games that reinforce the truth of the Bible lesson. |
 |
|
|
|
Where Does a Good
News Club Meet? |
|
Good News Clubs meet in the
neighborhood where children live. They meet most often in the
friendly atmosphere of a home. Good News Clubs also meet
at community centres, churches or most anywhere children will gather
together.
|
|
|
|
Who Teaches a
Good News Club? |
|
Christians who are concerned for boys
and girls work together volunteering their time to teach Good News
Clubs. They are trained by Child Evangelism Fellowship to have a
club that is exciting and informative so that children will want to
keep coming. Teachers sign the CEF Statement of Faith and agree to
abide by the policies of the organization.
|
|
|
|
What Can a Good
News Club do for My Neighbourhood? |
|
A Good News Club can identify a home in
the neighbourhood that is safe for a child to go to in time of
trouble. It brings the teaching of biblical morality to his
neighbourhood. It connects the child and his family to others where
they live developing a good community spirit. When you leave your
home on Sunday to go to church, others in your neighbourhood know you
are religious. When you teach children in your neighbourhood God's
Word, your neighbourhood learns what you believe. |

Discovery Time |
Discovery Time is a
ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship of Manitoba. Classes
are taught weekly in the Elementary Schools at the noon hour or
during class time.
Children enjoy learning about God's love for them and it helps
them develop a healthy self-concept and biblical values.
Some 300 men and
women teach the Good News to approximately 5000 children in 50+
public schools in Manitoba each week!
- Four series
of six lessons each are taught from October - April, with
special lessons at Christmas and Easter.
- Lively songs
help to reinforce concepts
- Bible verses
are learned using creative activities.
- Teaching is
about Bible characters and Jesus, and teachers do not talk
about denominational differences.
Opportunities to
teach in our public schools are available!

Fair Ministry |
|
The local fair is an ideal opportunity to minister to people in the
community! Each year, CEF goes to country fairs, festivals and
exhibitions to share the message of salvation through the Wordless
Book and Bible stories. Fairgoers of all ages are given the
opportunity to receive Christ as their Savior at the fair, and many
people’s lives have been impacted by this ministry over the years.
Will you be a part of what the Lord is doing at the
fair? There is a need for workers to volunteer to tell the Wordless
Book or Bible Story,
simply invite people walking by to hear the story, or just be
an adult presence to supervise.

Tel-A-Story |
|
What is
Tel-A-Story? |
|
|
Children across
Canada can call 1-877-456-0456 and hear a new story every day.
Stories generously provided by CBH Ministries (Grand Rapids,
Michigan) provide boys and girls the opportunity to think like Jesus
in every day situations.
Children listen to a three-minute story and if they have any
questions they can press zero and speak to a trained, screened
counselor. Children ask questions about the story, they mostly ask
questions about the reality of God and does He really love them and
care for them.
|
 |
|
Children have
so many questions, they want to talk and ask for prayer. We are
meeting a need and providing discipleship material to encourage
children to have a Biblical worldview. The calls that are toll-free
and are generously supported by churches and individuals who believe
that we are making a difference by meeting the spiritual needs of
the children. If you would like to donate to Tel-A-Story, contact
your local Canadian CEF office or donate on line at Canada Helps. In
the meantime share the phone number with a child. |
