Crossing New Frontiers of Faith
June 28, 2026
On June 14, 1919, two courageous aviators, John Alcock and Arthur Whitten Brown, made history by completing the world’s first non-stop transatlantic flight. Taking off from St. John’s, Newfoundland, and landing in Ireland more than 16 hours later, they faced dense fog, freezing temperatures, mechanical challenges, and countless unknowns. Many believed such a journey couldn’t be done, but they refused to let uncertainty keep them grounded.

Their historic flight changed the world.

As I reflected on their story this June, I couldn’t help but think of another group of pioneers and our very own CEF founder, Mr. Overholtzer and those who step out in faith to take the Gospel to children.

Every summer across Canada, CEF missionaries, staff, volunteers, and church partners venture into communities, parks, neighbourhoods, camps, and churches with a mission that is just as bold: to ensure every child has the opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Like those early aviators, we don’t always know what lies ahead. There are challenges to overcome, doors to open, and hearts to reach. Yet we press forward because the destination is worth every effort. The message we carry has the power to change lives—not just for today, but for eternity.

One of the greatest joys of serving with CEF Canada is seeing ordinary people respond to God’s extraordinary call. Whether it’s a volunteer leading a Good News Club, a church hosting a 5-Day Club, a supporter faithfully praying, or a donor investing in the next generation, every person plays a part in helping the Gospel travel farther than ever before.

History will remember Alcock and Brown for crossing an ocean.

Heaven celebrates every believer who crosses a street, or ocean, enters a neighbourhood, or walks into a classroom to share the hope of Christ with a child.

Jesus reminded His followers:

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” — Mark 16:15

For CEF Canada, “all the world” begins with the children God places right in front of us. Every club, every Bible lesson, every conversation, every prayer, and every act of kindness helps another child discover the incredible love of Jesus.

As we look ahead to the summer ministry season, thank you for being part of this journey. Your prayers, encouragement, financial support, and willingness to serve are helping us reach children from coast to coast with the life-changing message of the Gospel.

Together, let’s continue crossing new frontiers of faith.

Because every child deserves the opportunity to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Thank you for standing with CEF Canada as we continue to reach children, send missionaries, equip churches, and share the hope of Christ—one child, one family, and one community at a time.
